Events & Workshops
The Toddler program
The Toddler program is designed for children 16 months to 32 months. We work with the children and help them grow and become active explorers. Toddlers learn various little things during the day.
They start their day out working with Exercises of Practical Life and Sensorial in a group with the teacher and their friends or individually on their own. During this time the Teacher will encourage sharing, taking turns, and show them to put away one Montessori material before working with another. This time also gives them the opportunity to learn social skills and manners by saying please, thank you, etc.. We consider this time their unwinding time as well as their transition time from home to school.
The Preschool program
The Preschool program is designed for children 2 1/2 to 5 years.
Our preschoolers work everyday to build the following:
Sounds, letters, letterbox, Phonetic words, flash cards, reading books.
Numbers with quantities up to 1000.
Writing upper & lower case letters of the alphabet and numbers 1 - 1000.
Spelling, word lists, word building.
English – colors, numbers, shapes, animals, etc.
Science – human body, animal and plant classifications, etc.
Geography – countries, land formations, continents, oceans, states, flags
People around the world, habitats and holiday celebrations
Reading time and counting money
Art – painting, collage, drawing, printing, molding, etc.
Independence - we encourage self independence
Social Skills - building relationships with other children and teachers
Patience - we learn patience through many activities
Concentration - is built in working with all Montessori activities
